How the System Works
A Multi-Flo is a fiberglass aeration system. All wastewater used in the house enters the tank. A submersible aerator sits in the bottom the tank and distributes oxygen into the wastewater. This disolved oxygen allows aerobic bacteria to develop. The bacteria cling to 30 large cotton sock filters that hang in the tank. These filters also restrict any solid waste from escaping the tank.
- Multi-Flo tanks should be pumped out about every 2 years.
- When the tank is cleaned, the sock filters should be cleaned as well.
- Eventually, the submersable aerator will stop funtioning. It must be replaced as soon as possible to preserve the life of the system.
